The SPUC Educational Research Trust has produced an anatomically accurate teaching aid that allows students to see, feel and touch the unborn child.

These extremely realistic models were designed and manufactured under the expert guidance of a team of leading foetal authorities including obstetricians and gynaecologists, pathologists and other experts in anatomy and embryology. These are models of the unborn child at 4, 6, 10, 14 and 18 weeks. The three largest are life-size. Size 46 x 41 x13 cm

The 14- and 18-week models can be lifted from the womb. The models are extremely lifelike, anatomically accurate, made to the highest specifications, and sturdy and washable. There is a free study guide. Sets of models of this type would normally retail at around £500. SPUC is offering them for sale at only £79.99 each. In the classroom, the models are an ideal teaching aid for use at all Key stages.

The models can be used in GPs' surgeries and ante-natal classes to enable pregnant women to understand what physical changes are taking place. They are also ideal for use in teaching embryology, obstetrics and gynaecology, and anatomy.
