As you may have seen, in the last few days there has been a media storm around the fact that Life was awarded £250,000 from the money raised from the Tampon Tax to help fund their West London project to help pregnant homeless women. BPAS have already mobilised their supporters to write to their MP, asking them to object to the funds being given to Life.

Life has met all the criteria for the funding they have been awarded - the protests are purely around the fact that they are pro-life. It is important for all pro-lifers speak out against this attempt to discriminate against an organisation because of their defence of the unborn. If this grant is withdrawn on the basis that Life is pro-life, every pro-life organisation's charitable status, gift aid, and support contracts could be in jeopardy.

We would ask all supporters to write to their MP, praising the decision to award money to vulnerable women and babies, and not to give in to bullying by the very generously funded abortion lobby to withdraw it.

A personal email to your MP, who is elected to represent your interests, can really make a difference.

How do I write to my MP?

• Find your MP's contact details on the Parliament website 
• Either send a letter in the post or email them. Include your address so they know you're a constituent

What should I say?

It is best to write in your own words, but here are some points you might find helpful:

• It would be discriminatory to withdraw funding from an organisation, which has fulfilled the criteria for the award, purely because of their pro-life stance
• The Government should not be bullied by the abortion lobby to withdraw funding from an organisation that opposes their agenda
• The grant money is going to a project to house homeless and other at risk women - withdrawing the funding would take it away from the 19,500 people Life estimate will benefit from their services in West London and the surrounding area
• The NHS spends over £100 million each year on abortion - is £250,000 to help support women who want to keep their babies too much?
• Many women, even in difficult circumstances, do not want abortion, but help and support to have their baby. It is not "pro-choice" to limit women's choices by preventing Life from offering alternatives to abortion
• That BPAS and other "women's groups" are opposing funding being given to homeless and other vulnerable pregnant women shows that they do not care about women
