The scandal of Planned Parenthood selling foetal tissue is one of the major factors behind calls to defund the abortion giant.
On February 11, 2017, rallies were held at Planned Parenthood locations throughout the United States to call on Congress and President Trump to strip Planned Parenthood of all federal funding and reallocate those funds to health centres that help disadvantaged women without destroying human life through abortion.
228 rallies were held in 45 states, with protests in support of Planned Parenthood organised at 150 locations. One of the largest was at St. Paul, Minnesota, where police reported 6000 people at competing demonstrations.
Protesting IPPF in London
A rally was also held outside International Planned Parenthood’s London headquarters. According to organiser Greg Clovis of Family Life International, about 35 people processed to IPPF’s global headquarters in memory of the millions of children killed by abortion. He said: "There were lots of young people there - it was wonderful to see so many coming out in defence of unborn children. We also had some positive conversations with some of the four women who were there protesting in support of abortion."
