Nick Cannon, the American rapper and television personality, has hit out at Planned Parenthood, saying that it is "inflicting 'real genocide' on the African American community."

The rapper first raised the issue on a radio show last week, saying "Hillary [Clinton] was sneaking and cheating... Think about all the stuff they did with Planned Parenthood and all that type of stuff. That type of stuff is to take our community and forget gentrification, it's real genocide, and it's been like that for years."

When asked to clarify his comments yesterday, he said that the abortion giant is participating in "modern day eugenics."

Nick Cannon, who was formerly married to singer Mariah Carey, has made his pro-life stance known before. He is famous for his song "Can I Live?" which tells the story of how he was almost aborted.

BBC presenter spends time at American pro-life camp

BBC 3 yesterday screened a programme called Brainwashing Stacey: Anti-Abortion Camp, in which presenter Stacey Dooley took part in a summer camp run by American pro-life group Survivors.

The show was part of a series in which Stacey Dooley attempts to "understand the psychology of some of the world's most controversial movements" by spending time with them. Although the presenter did not come around to the pro-life point of view, she grew fond of the participants and came to respect the motivations of the group's leader, Jeff White. She was also clearly moved by meeting a couple who'd adopted the baby of a girl they'd persuaded to choose life outside an abortion clinic.

Stacey said, "I can't argue with the fact that there's every chance Stella would have been aborted if they hadn't have interjected. To see Stella knocking about with her sister, playing with Jeff, it is real food for thought."
