Several studies have shown that rates of cerebral palsy, the neurological condition which can result in speech problems, muscular stiffness and curvature of the spine, are higher in couples who have undergone in vitro fertilisation (IVF). Now researchers at the University of Aarhus in Denmark found that babies born by IVF were more than twice as likely to have cerebral palsy as those conceived naturally. Australian senator introduces euthanasia bill
Senator Bob Brown of the Australian Green Party has introduced a private senator’s bill that would overturn a 1997 law that restricts the ability of the Northern Territory, the ACT and Norfolk Island to legalize euthanasia. 40 Days for Life, the movement of prayer, fasting, outreach and vigil has ended. This year also saw the first 40 Days for Life event in London, United Kingdom. Organisers say that at least 541 babies have been saved, and their mothers given the support they need.
