The Multiple Sclerosis Society provides support for people living with MS, as well as funding research projects. This charity is a member of the AMRC.
In an article published in 2013, the society wrote in favour of the cloning of human embryos. Whilst acknowledging the ethical implications of such research, the author stated "being able to use embryonic stem cells […] is an exciting potential therapy." In its information booklet, "Stem Cell Therapies in MS" (2010), the charity indicates its support of the use of embryonic stem cells and foetal stem cells (taken from donated aborted foetuses) in research.
