UK abortion giant has questions to answer after Spanish doctor convicted

LONDON, : The UK’s main abortion business has questions to answer after the doctor-owner of its "fully recommended" Spanish partner was convicted after making millions from illegal abortions.

The British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) - itself a multi-million pound company headed by £140,000 per year boss Ann Furedi - told British women seeking late abortions to go to Dr Carlos Morin’s centre in Barcelona, Ginemedex, which performed late-term abortions unlawful under both Spanish and British law. Dr Morin had also been convicted in 2007 of illegal abortions.

Paul Tully, general secretary of the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC) said:

"Dr Morin's obscene money-making from the killing of unborn children is yet more evidence that the abortion industry is a money-grubbing business with no respect for the law. BPAS's endorsement of Dr Morin's centre means that Ann Furedi has questions to answer. We will be calling upon MPs to put pressure on the Department of Health to stop giving contracts to BPAS."
