Towns across Britain see street vigils against abortion London, : 45 cities and towns across Britain have seen street vigils against abortion.

On Saturday (30 April) local pro-life activists marked the 43rd anniversary of the Abortion Act coming into force, forming human chains alongside major roads.

The participants stood in silence for two hours, holding placards with pro-life messages, including the hurt caused to women by abortion.

The vigils were organised by local branches of the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC).

Since then, over seven million unborn children have been killed through registered abortion in Britain. This figure does not include abortions which may be caused by birth control drugs and devices. Nor does it include the number of embryos destroyed or discarded during and after in-vitro fertilisation (IVF).
