SPUC deplores MPs' complaints about abortion debate
SPUC deplores MPs' complaints about abortion debate London, 21 October - SPUC has expressed its distaste at complaints from pro-abortion MPs that abortion may not be debated in the House of Commons tomorrow.
John Smeaton, SPUC national director, said: "It is deplorable that Dr Evan Harris and Ms Emily Thornberry should be complaining about abortion-related amendments while Britain's abortion regime continues to operate. More than 500 innocent unborn children will lose their lives in Britain today, and the amendments which those two MPs support will almost certainly increase the death toll if they are passed. This country does not need more abortion. Women deserve better than abortion. Only then can we perhaps call ourselves a civilised nation."
