Violent pro-abortion rioters accidently set themselves alight after failed attempt to fire-bomb pro-lifers

Pro-abortion rioters in Mexico have accidently set themselves alight after failing to fire-bomb pro-lifers in an attempted attack. Michael Robinson, SPUC Director of Communications said: "Pro-abortion ideology is rooted in violence. It is therefore not surprising when pro-abortion activists embody this aggression and violence in their actions."

The attempted attack, which was captured in startling new footage now circulating the internet, shows violent pro-abortion activists rioting in Mexico City, insisting the government legalise abortion on demand.

The rioters attempted to throw a fire-bomb at a small group of pro-lifers. However, the attack failed, and the pro-abortion rioters consequently set themselves on fire. One woman in the footage, reportedly a journalist, sustained second-degree burns from the attack and is currently being treated in hospital.

Mr Robinson said: "Incidents such as these show the fear of the pro-abortion lobby. These attacks arise from their knowledge that the pro-life movement is on the side of right and, ultimately, is bound succeed."

Abortion in Latin America

Abortion in Mexico varies across the country’s states.

In Mexico City, where the attempted attack occurred, abortion is restricted after the first trimester of pregnancy. Across Mexico’s other states, abortion remains tightly within the criminal code and is only permitted in limited circumstances.

Radical pro-abortion groups in Mexico, have recently been carrying out aggressive attacks across the country in a bid to force the government to legalise abortion on demand and remove it from the criminal code.

The belligerent tactics used by pro-abortion rioters include desecrating Catholic cathedrals and angrily confronting pro-life campaigners and churchgoers including children and the elderly.

These tactics appear to have emerged in various parts of Latin and South America and are being used by pro-abortion activists angered by their governments’ commitment to protect unborn lives.

In Chile, it has been reported how 19 police officers were injured by pro-abortion activists earlier this month. Riots have also been rife in Argentina over the previous months.

Escalating pro-abortion violence

SPUC have been reporting on the spiralling attacks carried out against pro-lifers by pro-abortion activists.

Earlier this year, SPUC reported on how pro-abortion activists set a pro-life journalist’s car alight whilst distributing his home address, where he lives with his family. And in January, a pro-abortion activist threatened to slit the throat of a young pro-life girl. Acts of aggression aimed at pro-life people have also been recorded in Manchester, Cardiff, Nottingham and London.
