Award winning Singer and songwriter, Ed Sheeran, is planning to dedicate a tattoo to his unborn baby who is reportedly due to be delivered at some point in the summer of 2020. The singer’s tattoo artist and close friend said that Ed Sheeran “always planned on getting tattoos for his kids. Being a dad is something he has always spoken about and the most important thing in his life.”
It was revealed earlier this month that Ed Sheeran’s wife of two years, Cherry Seaborn, was expecting their first child and is due to give birth within a matter of weeks.
Ed Sheeran’s tattoo artist, Kevin Paul, has described how the singer is planning on a lower back tattoo in honor of his first child. The tattoo will be done once the sex and name of his child are established.
During an interview in 2019, Sheeran described the sacrifices he would make for his wife and any future children, and how he would be happy to step back from his career for them.
The singer said: “I’m starting a life with Cherry. I can’t spend the next 20 years on the road. Kids would be a different thing, I wouldn’t mind sacrificing for them.
“If someone told me you can’t tour again for the next ten years if you have kids that is fine, because that is what I’ve signed up for.”
Ed Sheeran’s moving music used as pro-life anthem
In 2018, Ed Sheeran became caught up in an abortion debate as pro-life campaigners in the Republic of Ireland used his moving anthem ‘small bump’ during a pro-life rally. Addressing the usage of the song, Mr Sheeran did not give confirmation as to whether he was pro-life or pro-abortion, but simply stated that he did not give permission for the song to be used.
The lyrics of the anthem provide an emotional insight into the life and value of an unborn child before being ‘torn from life.’
The lyrics read: “You're just a small bump unborn in four months you're brought to life. You might be left with my hairbut you'll have your mother's eyes…Fingernails the size of a half grain of rice and eyelids closed to be soon opened wide. A small bump in four months you'll open your eyes.
“Cause you were just a small bump unborn for four months then torn from life. Maybe you were needed up there but we're still unaware as why.”
