Powerful western donors including governments and international institutions have been accused in a new documentary of exploiting the Coronavirus pandemic in order to promote a pro-abortion agenda in African counties.
The documentary, Africa’s Pandemic - A Gateway to Neocolonialism, was premiered on December 6th by pro-life initiative, Culture of Life Africa. The documentary has been described as an “exposé on a global trend that is silently gaining momentum and traction under the shadow of the worldwide Coronavirus pandemic – a bold attempt to extend and expand the agenda of the international abortion movement to countries in the developing world.”
Obianuju Ekeocha, founder and president of Culture of Life Africa said: “The effects of the pandemic have been devastating for Africans and on the economy of African nations, as well as on the already strained infrastructure throughout the continent, putting countries in a more dire situation.
“Some western donors including government and international institutions, have used this as an opportunity to insert an ideological agenda focused on so-called ‘sexual and reproductive health and rights’ under the cover of Covid-19 humanitarian relief.”
Ms Ekeocha continued: “Strengthened by this new infusion of donor funds at a time when many communities are weakened and vulnerable under the burden of a global pandemic, abortion advocacy groups are pushing their ideology of legalized abortion, and yet, none of this makes it into the daily news cycle.
“I encourage everyone to watch this report and hear from the experts who have been following this deceptive global movement from the start.”
SPUC’s Michael Robinson said: “Earlier this year, SPUC reported that the Swedish government was providing $2 million towards promoting abortion in developing African countries that were in dire need of PPE and medical equipment to combat COVID-19.
“It is deplorable that during a time of great human suffering, wealthy Western nations deem it appropriate to spend millions of pounds on pushing abortion equipment into some of the world’s poorest regions, instead of supplying basic humanitarian aid to assist ease suffering.
“It is clear, that for the abortion industry, no matter how tragic the crisis, a reason to push and promote abortion will always be found.”
