SPUC supporters have been distributing pro-life leaflets describing the dangers of DIY home abortion to commemorate the 53rd anniversary of the implementation of the 1967 Abortion Act. Michael Robinson, SPUC Director of Communications said: “Today, April 27th, marks fifty-three years since the Abortion Act was implemented in the UK. Since then, over 9 million unborn children have been killed, and so many women, men and families have been wounded.”
Since the implementation of the Abortion Act on 27 April 1968, nearly 9 and a half million unborn babies have lost their lives through abortion.
During the past year, SPUC has been reporting on the tragic expansion of the culture of death, in the form of DIY home abortions. Women can now receive abortion pills in the post, and are left to go through the trauma alone at home.
SPUC supporters in the UK have been encouraged to distribute SPUC’s leaflets, No to DIY Abortions at Home, which highlight the dangers of home abortion.
The leaflets also give the details of organisations which can help women who have changed their mind halfway through a medical abortion, and those who are suffering post-abortion.
SPUC’s Michael Robinson said: “SPUC thanks you, our supporters, who have courageously and constantly taken part in these pro-life activities. Your dedication and commitment to mothers and unborn children have been incredible.”
“We will continue to stand up for unborn babies and their mothers”
2020 has seen the worst expansion in abortion practice in 50 years, with the DIY abortion scheme introduced at the beginning of lockdown. DIY home abortion was implemented in response to the nationwide lockdown introduced because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
SPUC’s Mr Robinson said: “The challenges we face are very great. But we know that we have science, and the truth, on our side. The pro-life position is very simple. Life begins at conception, and every human life is valuable and worthy of protection. We will continue to proclaim these facts, and to stand up for unborn babies and their mothers.”
