A woman has explained how abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, “misinformed and lied” to her about the reality of abortion drugs. Michael Robinson, SPUC Director of Communications said: “The abortion industry hides behind elaborate and misleading language to conceal the truth of what abortion involves. In concealing information, the abortion industry regards women as too infantile to be given the uncensored truth.”
Nelle, was six weeks pregnant when Planned Parenthood supplied her with two abortion drugs, Mifepristone and Misoprostol.
Nelle said that Planned Parenthood told her that there are “no real risks” when taking abortion drugs and that she would only experience “light cramping.” The abortion provider gave Nelle an information pack, but failed to discuss the contents with her.
“I was misinformed and lied to”
Nelle said: “The entire time I was there I was told lies! They said, ‘There are no real risks; this is like a period, light cramping; it’ll all be over within 2 day.’
“Of course, I had to read the packet they didn’t go over with me, and inside it said I might bleed for up to 3 weeks…No one actually says that you bleed for 3 weeks, no one…I had asked multiple nurses and they assured me it would all be clear within a few days!
“The abortion process, however, was extremely painful… it hurt like crazy and I have never been more nauseated and in pain in my life. I was a sweaty, bloody, crying mess. The cramping was pretty bad for me but it was the fact of feeling the chunks fall out of you…”
Nelle continued: “I truly believe Planned Parenthood tricks young girls into getting this type of abortion solely to keep them running… They assure you there is literally zero risk and that it is quick, private, and like a period. Which is all a lie.
“I was completely misinformed and lied to. I feel very manipulated.”
Women speaking out
A growing number of women have been speaking out about their ordeal with abortion. Many women have described how they were not informed of all the information surrounding the abortion procedure, leaving them unprepared for the reality.
One woman, who had an abortion earlier this year said: “I was never really given full choice. Certain information was never disclosed to me – I’ve had to look it up later….
“There is information that’s missing, and contradictory information, and it makes it disrespectful to women who find themselves in that position of having to decide. But people in that position need to be given proper information so they’re not given a life of regret.”
SPUC’s Michael Robinson said: “The impact that abortion has upon the health of some women can be life-changing. Yet growing evidence suggests that women are not being fully informed and the consequences can be devastating.
“If mothers have the opportunity to consider information about the reality of abortion, they may reject it.”
