Two women suffered medical emergencies in the space of five days at a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in California in the United States.
Watchdog group Operation Rescue has reported that last May a Planned Parenthood clinic in Walnut Creek, in California, called 911 twice in five days when two women suffered medical emergencies.
According to Operation Rescue, the first emergency occurred on 14 May, when a 20-year-old woman suffered from serious pain and persistent bleeding after an abortion.
The woman was taken by ambulance to Contra Costa Regional Medical Centre.
Several days later, on 21 May, a second woman was also taken to a medical centre after experiencing breathing problems.
Operation Rescue’s president, Troy Newman, said: “We know of women who have died from being overdosed on sedatives given by abortion clinic workers. We frankly don’t know if that woman is alive or dead today.”
SPUC comment
A SPUC spokesperson said “ The truth about women’s experiences are being swept under the carpet when their abortion isn’t successful at abortion clinics and recent research found in the UK also lifts the lid on the lies about supposed safe abortion.
“Information recently came to light, for example, showing that ambulance calls for abortion complications rose by 54% during 2020 following the introduction of DIY abortion.
“This April, too, a 23-year-old student in Argentina died following a legal chemical abortion, which SPUC reported at the time.
“We must never forget that abortion harms women as worldwide research indicates and is 100% unsafe for unborn children. SPUC will never cease to campaign on behalf of the safety and well-being of women and their babies, and to protect them against an abortion industry that only cares about profit and covering up clinics’ misdeeds.”
