SPUC Scotland’s pro-life youth initiative Project Truth will be hitting the streets for the first time since the outbreak of COVID-19 prevented last year’s roadshow from taking place.
Every summer, the Project Truth team, consisting of young pro-life activists aged between 18-30, embarks on a roadshow around the towns and cities of Scotland.
The team provides information regarding the development of life in the womb and discusses how abortion impacts unborn children, their mothers and wider society.
Now that COVID-19 restrictions are now set to ease, the team is thrilled to be taking to the streets once more this summer.
Project Truth will tour five Scottish cities and towns, including Glasgow and Edinburgh. Health and safety measures will be in place to ensure the safety of team members and the public.
Building a culture of life
Louise Grant, Project Truth Coordinator and SPUC Scotland Youth Officer, said: “This is super exciting! This year, even more so, after missing out on the Roadshow last year due to Covid restrictions.
“It’s vitally important that we bring the pro-life message to the public, especially in the light of very concerning changes introduced in March 2020. These measures that allow women to self-administer medical abortions at home, will not only lead to more abortion but also put women themselves at increased risk of harm.
“Project Truth provides a fantastic platform for encouraging young people to get actively involved in the pro-life movement. What can be perceived as a hostile environment suddenly turns into an invaluable opportunity to open the lines of discussion.
“I love being able to teach young people how to be good communicators and have fruitful and articulate conversations on this subject. It’s crucially important that we truly listen to those we converse with to understand where they’re coming from, including some women dealing with an abortion experience of their own.
“We have lots of new faces joining us and I can’t wait to build a culture of life with them next week!”
