Professor who attacked pro-life students FIRED after threatening journalist with machete

A New York City professor who abused pro-life students and later threatened a journalist with a machete has been “relieved of her duties”.

Shellyne Rodriguez, 46, an adjunct professor at the Hunter College in NYC, was initially filmed shouting abuse and obscenities at pro-life students in early May.

“You’re not educating s***… This is f***ing propaganda… This is violent. You’re triggering my students”, she exclaimed.

One pro-life student tried to reason with her, but Rodriguez proceeded to physically disrupt their display. An investigation was launched, while pro-lifers and commentators, including Charlie Kirk, called for her to be sacked for her unprovoked attack on students.

Then, in the last 24 hours, footage emerged of Rodriguez threatening a journalist from the NY Post by placing a machete against his neck, telling him: “Get the f*** away from my door, or I’m gonna chop you up with this machete!”

Within hours, Hunter College announced that “Rodriguez has been relieved of her duties… effective immediately, and will not be returning to teach at the school…

“Hunter College strongly condemns the unacceptable actions of Shellyne Rodriguez and has taken immediate action.”

SPUC comment

A SPUC spokesperson said: “Pro-abortion militants in the United States are becoming increasingly unhinged as authorities do little to protect pro-lifers in the public space. Only after threatening a journalist with a machete was this professor finally fired.

“The instigator of violence here was clearly Rodriguez. This is the strange world some pro-abortion idealogues inhabit, projecting their own violent ideology onto peaceful citizens.

“In the end, our beliefs are made manifest in our actions. We should all take note of Rodriguez’s extreme and wholly unacceptable responses to having her beliefs challenged, which says much about her attitude towards humanity, including unborn babies.

“Meanwhile, pro-lifers live their peaceful, life-affirming principles every day with respect, reason and courage, and are a credit to the unborn lives they serve to protect.”
