A pro-abortion political action group in Texas is offering its employees an annual stipend of $3,000 to pay for their abortions.
“Avow Texas” is a pro-abortion non-profit organisation working to “secure unrestricted abortion access for every Texan”.
As part of its employee benefits package – including healthcare, remote working and six-month family leave – Avow also includes a $3,000 abortion stipend for employees.
Avow seeks abortion on-demand in Texas.
Formerly known as Pro-Choice Texas, an affiliate of NARAL Pro-Choice America, the group is now more direct in its messaging, having already funded billboards in Texas stating that “Abortion is Freedom”.
A recent poll, this year in Texas, found that 40% of voters label themselves “pro-life” and 41% as “pro-choice”.
23 cities in Texas have declared themselves “sanctuary cities” for the unborn in the last two years. Lubbock is the most recent city to declare itself for the unborn after its citizen voted to approve a local ban on abortion.
SPUC comment
A SPUC spokesperson said: “Abortion is a violent act which kills the unborn child and has harmful, sometimes deadly, consequences for the women involved.
“Placing abortion on a par with family leave and dental care is an abhorrent move which is no doubt a further attempt to “normalise” abortion in the state and elsewhere.
“But as a significant proportion of Texans clearly realise, there is nothing normal about an act that kills an unborn child.”
