Argentina lower house drops bill to extend abortion

The lower house of Congress in Argentina has dropped a bill to extend abortion. Approval by a committee, necessary for the bill to progress, was not obtained. Cynthia Hotton, a deputy in the congress who opposed the bill, said: "I reaffirm my commitment in defence of the life of the child from conception and to natural death."
