Kenyan doctors work to stop abortion elements in new constitution.

A group of doctors and attorneys in Kenya have launched a court challenge to remove a pro-abortion provision from Kenya's draft constitution. German court allow genetic screening of human embryos.

A German court ruled yesterday that embryos who have been frozen for future in vitro fertilisation (IVF) can be screened to see if they are likely to be born with disabilities. The Federal Supreme Court in Leipzig ruled in support of a Berlin gynaecologist who had carried out such screening and implanted only those without disabilities. Methodists to clarify their position on abortion.

The annual conference of the Methodist Church has voted to clarify their position on abortion. The church has said that it will not alter their 1976 statement on abortion, but will issue an updated explanation of it. Irish pro-life march draws 4000 people.

The annual all-Ireland pro-life rally which took place last Saturday was attended by an estimated 4,000 people. The rally received a message of support from Dr Philip Boyce, Catholic bishop of Raphoe. The rally was also reminded that Ireland’s pro-life laws are under threat from the A, B & C case currently before the European Court of Human Rights, as well as by proposed domestic legislation. US bishop says failure to correct pro-abortion politicians encourages greater evil.

Thomas Olmsted, the Catholic bishop of Phoenix, America, has said that those who refuse to take Catholic pro-abortion politicians to task embolden such individuals to commit acts against human life and dignity. Leading scientist abandons embryonic research.
