Morning-after pill free at pharmacies in Wales from April

Morning-after pills, which may cause early abortions, are to be made available free of charge in pharmacies in Wales. The move will be funded by the national health service (NHS). Glasgow company starts clinical trials using neural stem cells from abortion victim

Reneuron, a Scottish company, has started clinical trials using neural stem cells taken from an aborted foetus. The trials are aimed at repairing the brains of stroke victims. Sherley, a leading American stem cell expert who advises SPUC, commented: “Even if bone fide pure neural stem cells were available from ethically consented donors, why would any competent researcher suggest that cells taken from one specific spot in the brain could work anywhere in the brain or spinal cord?"

Frances Inglis, who murdered her brain-damaged son Thomas, has lost her appeal against her conviction and life sentence. Mrs Inglis killed her son because she was convinced that he was better off dead. Lord Judge, presiding, said that "a disabled life, even a life lived at the extremes of disability, is not one jot less precious than the life of an able-bodied person".
