Three Irish judges will rule in the case of a young Irish mother whohas been described as "brain dead" but is being kept alive on alife-support machine.

The young mother is currently pregnant with a babywho has reached 17 weeks gestation. Neurosurgeons recommended switchingoff her life-support, but other doctors and lawyers for Ireland’sHealth Service Executive have sought a legal ruling. [22 December, Irish Times]
