Debbie Purdy wins House of Lords case on assisted suicide. SPUC had intervener status before the judges. Anthony Ozimic of SPUC, who was present at the judgment, told the media: "It sends out a terrible message to disabled and the seriously ill that they are less valued than others. It is also sends out the message that in certain circumstances it is right for people with disabilities to be assisted to kill themselves. This is fundamentally unethical and will put vulnerable people under terrible pressure to agree to suicide if they are made to feel they are a burden on their loved ones or society."
