PATRICIA CASEY "Mental Health and Abortion: The Clinical Perspective and the Situation in Ireland"

Prof Casey gave this talk at the 2018 SPUC Youth Conference.Patricia Casey is Professor of Psychiatry at University College Dublin and Consultant Psychiatrist MMU Hospital, Dublin. She has authored 11 books, including "A Guide to Psychiatry in Primary Care", and "Adjustment Disorders: From Controversy to Clinical Practice", to be published by Oxford University Press in March 2018. She has published over 120 papers in peer reviewed journals, and is editor of the BJPsych Advances, published by the Royal College of Psychiatrists, London. She advised the Oriechtas Joint Committee on the Eighth Amendment, before exiting the role on the basis that the committee was deeply, and unprofessionally, biased in favour of promoting abortion in Ireland.
