Action on Hearing Loss was formed in 2013 when it merged with Deafness Research UK.

It is a member of the AMRC.

The charity supports research into treatments and cures for hearing loss and tinnitus, provides day-to-day care for people suffering from loss of hearing, and campaigns to change public policy around hearing loss issues. The charity funds research involving embryonic stem cells.
