Brook was originally formed as an offshoot of the Family Planning Association with the goal of pioneering the provision of birth control to young people.
The charity offers abortion advice and supplies morning-after pills, which can induce abortion when conception has occurred. Although unable to provide abortion directly, Brook arranges abortion referrals for those clients who, under counselling "choose to terminate their pregnancies".
The website includes an advice section for under-16s seeking abortion and has frequent links to BPAS and Marie Stopes. The website also includes sections on gender and sexual-orientation offering advice on transitioning and coming out.
