Human Genetics Alert is a public interest watchdog group.

In 2013, the HGA called upon the UK Secretary of State not to legalise human genetic manipulation techniques for fear that it would "eventually lead to a eugenic designer baby market". On frequent occasions the group has spoken out the danger of genetic manipulation, sex-selective abortion, and the use of hybrid embryos for research.

However, the charity does also make it frequently clear that "Human Genetics Alert is an independent secular watchdog group that supports abortion rights."
