Marie Stopes International is a major provider and promoter of abortion worldwide.

In England, Marie Stopes performs abortions in its clinics and, on its website, offers services and directions for women seeking abortion from Spain and Northern Ireland where access to abortion is restricted. Marie Stopes International supports the Back Off Campaign, which seeks to establish ‘buffer zones’ around abortion clinics, preventing access to prayer vigils and pavement counsellors.

The group works in developing countries to provide ‘family planning services’. In a statement on its website, MSI affirms that they: "believe women everywhere, regardless of where they live, should have access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services - including a range of contraceptive methods and, where legal, access to safe abortion".
