Students in Australia and UK protest against China one-child policy - Students from Campion College, Toongabbie East, New South Wales, protested against China's one-child policy outside that country's consulate in Sydney on 16 August. The day before, members of the Youth and Student Division of the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children organised a similar demonstration outside the Chinese Embassy in London, England. A security guard showed irritation at the Sydney protest but the young people, who had local police permission, stood firm. The protestors gave out leaflets which were confiscated from those entering the consulate. Some people who subsequently left the building asked for replacement leaflets. Other protestors at the consulate told the young people that their demonstration will have been seen by senior political figures as they entered the building. Campion is Australia's first Catholic liberal arts college. There is a report (also with picture) on the London demo, as well as a high resolution picture of the Sydney event .
