Pro abortion lawyers cannot 'spin' a victory from the lost 'D' case, says SPUC

Pro-abortion lawyers cannot 'spin' a victory from the lost 'D' case, says SPUC Belfast, - Pro-abortion lawyers cannot turn their failure in the 'D' case into a propaganda victory, said the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children today. Commenting on the claim in today's Irish Times that, following the 'D' case, disabled unborn babies may not count as unborn children protected by the Irish Republic constitution, SPUC development officer Liam Gibson said: "The rejection of the case by the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) does not affect the rights of the unborn under Irish law. The pro-abortion lobby are saying the decision implies that unborn children with disabilities should be considered as less human than other children. This is not only unfounded but will appal most people. It is precisely because the people of Ireland believe that human rights start when human life begins that the abortion lobby has resorted to the ECHR. Their failure in this case is a serious setback to the efforts of the pro-abortion lobby to undermine the Constitution by claiming a human right to abortion."
