UK abortion giant BPAS sends women abortion drugs so she could have a summer beach body

One of the UK’s largest abortion providers, the British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS), has posted  abortion drugs to a woman who said that she wanted to abort her baby because “she didn’t want to look pregnant on holiday”, an investigation by Christian Concern has revealed.

Michael Robinson, SPUC Director of Communications said: “This undercover investigation has exposed just how lax the UK abortion law truly is, and just how easy it is for these regulations to be abused.

“In the United Kingdom, an abortion can only legally be carried out if the reasons for the termination meet the criteria outlined in the 1967 Abortion Act. Maintaining a beach body is not one of these reasons. A video of the undercover conversation by a ‘mystery shopper’ shows how easily abortion providers are able to manipulate these reasons to meet the legal requirement for an abortion.

“How many unborn lives have been taken as a result of our lax, barbaric laws, and how will the Government allow this to continue?”

“I didn’t want to worry about looking pregnant on the beach”

As part of  the Christian Concern investigation, an undercover woman who was not pregnant contacted abortion giant BPAS seeking chemical abortion drugs. Under the current DIY home abortion regulations, women can get abortion drugs by making a phone call. The pills are then posted to the woman’s home.

During the undercover phone call, a BPAS abortion worker asked the mystery caller why she is requesting an abortion.

The caller replied: “We’ve just literally like booked a holiday and we were just quite confined during the lockdown…And we were just so looking forward to this holiday and I just want to… We just wanted to really focus on this holiday and have a good time and not – I just didn’t want to worry about looking pregnant on the beach and all that. I just, it’s just so bad the timing right now.”

“I have to attach what you tell me to a legal reason”

The BPAS abortion worker responded by saying: “It sounds to me that the individual reasons you’re giving come down to you just not being emotionally ready for a pregnancy right now.

“Any reason that you ever give is always going to be valid for you. So whether it’s physically with regards to however you look or feel, with regards to nausea, again all your travel plans, it sounds maybe like a physical, emotional time that you’re not ready for pregnancy right now.

“I don’t want to put words in your mouth. What I have to do is attach what you tell me to a legal reason.

“Any reason other than the sex of the baby is a valid reason to us, but to attach it to a legal reason, it sounds like emotionally it’s not the right time. Because it doesn’t necessarily sound like it’s financial, possibly slightly physical, it doesn’t sound maybe mentally, like you’re not ready.” (sic)

The mystery caller received the abortion drugs in the post shortly after the phone call.

“Lax abortion law must be abolished with full human rights restored”

SPUC is watching with great interest as a judicial review brought by Christian Concern on the UK’s DIY home abortion policy commences this week.

Christian Concern lost their first attempt to  bring a judicial review against the DIY home abortion regulations in May this year. Senior judges threw out the case, stating that the grounds for legal action were “not properly arguable” and therefore refused to grant the judicial review.

However, the Court of Appeal then announced that a public hearing  would be permitted. This will determine if the Department of Health exceeded its powers in introducing the DIY home abortion regulations. The legal challenge begins today. SPUC’s Michael Robinson added: “SPUC will watch this case with great interest and hopes that the lives of the unborn are given some level of protection which they are currently being denied. SPUC believes that on this issue, we need to win the hearts and minds of the general public and that is why we have launched a successful public awareness campaign to combat DIY home abortion.

“It is vital that these lax abortion regulations which burden over our country are abolished and that full human rights are restored and granted to each human life.”
