SPUC education team launch online learning hub, committed to building the next pro-life generation

An online learning hub has been developed by the SPUC education team who are committed to building the future pro-life generation across the United Kingdom. Emmet Dooley, SPUC Scotland Director of Education said: “A society which recognizes the equal worth of every human life is within our reach. It is important that we continue to encourage the upcoming generations and inspire them to be a voice for life amongst their peers.”

The online learning hub was established to accommodate parents and educators using virtual resources due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The hub will allow SPUC’s wide range of educational presentations to be delivered to students across the country at an online level.

SPUC’s Mr Dooley said: “Before the Coronavirus lockdown, the SPUC education team were delivering life affirming presentations to over 13,000 students each year. Our new hub learning resource will ensure than during these uncertain times, our pro-life materials are more accessible than ever.

“For decades, SPUC has been at the forefront of every battle to defend and uphold the dignity of human life. We are pleased that our dynamic education team has been able to adapt to the COVID-19 safety measures, and that pro-life families, parents, students and educators will never be without our vital pro-life resources."

What SPUC can offer parents, pupils and educators

The SPUC education team can offer a diverse range of life affirming presentations which cater to different age groups and stages of learning. The presentations include; New Life and Abortion, Assisted Suicide & Euthanasia, Embryo Care, Reproductive Relationships, Overpopulation, Sexual Health: Mind and Body, Pre-Natal Development, and The Human Experience.

One teacher in a West Dunbartonshire secondary school said: “Our pupils loved the talks and kept asking for more, they got so much from them. The presentations are relevant and up-to-date which makes them more accessible and interesting to our pupils.”

Mr Dooley added: “I truly believe young people can respond positively to the most exacting topics once they are proposed to them in a gentle, fun, attractive and yet courageous way.

“Here at SPUC Scotland our dynamic education team can cater to your schools differing polices and offer input and support.

“Do not hesitate to contact us as our calendar fills up quickly and we will be glad to complement the good work you are already doing with your students in whatever way you see fit.”
