SPUC Scotland team to climb Conic Hill in fundraising effort to stop home abortions

The SPUC Scotland team are set to climb the Conic Hill over Loch Lomond as part of a fundraising effort to stop DIY home abortions. Eden Linton, SPUC Scotland team member said: “This is the first ever fundraising event undertaken by the whole team here at SPUC Scotland. DIY home abortions are taking lives and hurting women across the UK. It is vital that we raise awareness of this tragedy.”

The Government’s DIY home abortion regime was introduced earlier this year in response to the nationwide lockdown caused by the Coronavirus pandemic.

Since March 2020, around 500 women a day in Britain have performed their own chemical abortion at home with no medical supervision or support.

In September 2020, UK abortion giant, the British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) hailed the death of unborn children though DIY abortions as a “silver lining” of the pandemic.

“Every donation is hugely appreciated”

SPUC’s Ms Linton added: “The tragedy of home abortions comes at a time when unborn babies in Scotland have never been so vulnerable, with a near record 13,583 lives lost to abortion in 2019 alone.

“Every single donation is hugely appreciated and will make a real difference to the work of SPUC at such an unpredictable time.”

The climb up Conic Hill is due to take place on October 6th. The climb up the sharp summit provides views over Loch Lomond and onto Glasgow.
