On 12th December, the pro-life group London Students for Life will walk the perimeter of Richmond Park to raise money for students who become pregnant at university. Please donate here.
The Alma Mater Fund, a SPUC Scotland initiative launched in September 2019, supports student mothers through financial grants.
Kaitlyn, one woman who has received such a grant, said:
“The Alma Mater Fund is a huge support. Everyone is lovely and more than willing to help. Being a student and having a baby is a financial struggle. The grant will allow me to get my daughter the things she needs. If you are a student and get pregnant, there is help out there. At first I thought I would never manage, but having a baby is the best thing that's happened to me.”
London Students for Life is a group of students dedicated to preserving the dignity of life and building a strong cohort of pro-lifers.
“We want to help uphold the beauty and dignity of life, and we strive to help make this possible in whatever capacity.”
They aim to raise £600.
SPUC comment
A SPUC spokesperson said: “The Alma Mater Fund is very much a worthy cause. The sum granted to students is decided on an individual basis depending on their situation. To apply for the grant, and to speak to the Alma Mater Fund coordinator, a student can:
“Call, text, or WhatsApp 07849 088 244
“Email: info@almamaterfund.org.uk
“Message on Facebook @almamaterfund.”
