UN “human rights experts” seek to decriminalise abortion in “hypocritical” attack on Honduran government

“Human rights experts” from the United Nation’s “Working Group on discrimination against women and girls” have weighed in on the Honduran government’s effort to prevent any future decriminalisation of abortion in their country.

Honduran legislators recently voted to protect its unborn by requiring three-quarters of the Honduran Congress to ratify any such future decision regarding pro-abortion legislation, as reported by SPUC.

In response to the move, a U.N. Working Group, claiming to be working against “all forms of discrimination against women and girls throughout the world”, labelled the legislation “alarming”.

“We regret that efforts to amend the Criminal Code with a view to decriminalising abortion have failed in the past”, the statement also said.

The Working Group on discrimination against women and girls was established in 2010 at the fifteenth session of the U.N. Human Rights Council, an inter-governmental body purporting to promote and protect “human rights” around the globe.

SPUC comment

A SPUC spokesperson said: “The Working Group on discrimination against women and girls has admitted its pro-abortion agenda here, which, far from eliminating ‘discrimination’, would impose a culture that discriminates against the unborn, half of whom are themselves female, as well as mother too.

The notion that abortion is a ‘human right’ and that it is good for women is obscene and hypocritical.

How ‘independent’ can this group be when, excluding any other considerations, it clearly has a bias in favour of pushing an abortion agenda.”
