A pro-life support centre in Malta has described how they have saved 30 babies from abortion during 2020. Michael Robinson, SPUC Director of Communications, said: “This is terrific news. This proves just how vital pro-life outreach is.”
The pro-life centre, Life Line Malta, provides invaluable support for women facing a crisis or unexpected pregnancy. Life Line Malta has now confirmed that during 2020 it saved 30 babies from being killed by abortion.
The Maltese pro-life centre opened its doors in 2018 and has been providing support to hundreds of families ever since. Life Line Malta operates a crisis pregnancy helpline alongside a chat box which is open 24 hours a day, assisting women facing a crisis pregnancy who often find themselves with little support or information.
Malta is one of the few European countries proud to promote pro-life laws that protect mothers and children. Abortion is only carried out in Malta if the mother’s life is believed to be at risk.
“Empowering women during and after pregnancy”
Christie Zammit, Life Line Malta Administrative Officer, said: “Since its inception, Life Line Malta has offered its support to over 100 families who, in some way or another, needed emotional help or material assistance.
“In 2020, Life Line Malta had saved 30 babies whose mothers were considering abortion, which is the equivalent to two kindergarten classes.
“Our aim is to empower women during and after their pregnancy, with the ultimate goal of helping them grow into becoming a better woman and mother.
“A vital aspect of our support services is the counselling branch... through our dedicated counsellor who walks alongside and supports all the mothers, fathers and family throughout the pregnancy and after childbirth.
“Together with the team and the counsellor, we walk the whole journey with the entire family.”
Pro-life work saves lives
SPUC’s Mr Robinson added: “We know that pro-life outreach work saves lives.
“Earlier this month, SPUC reported on how the precious lives of 118 babies were saved from abortion because of the work of 40 Days for Life vigils.
“We are overjoyed at the progress the pro-life movement is making in saving lives, supporting mothers and displacing the culture of death.”
