Pro-abortion internet trolls told a teenage mum that they “hope she dies in labour” after she rejected abortion and chose to keep her baby. Michael Robinson, SPUC Director of Communications, said: “This abuse hurled towards a child is repulsive; yet, sadly pro-abortion extremism, particularly online, which is hostile towards mothers, is growing.”

Maddie Lambert, from Texas, was just 13 years old when she found out that she was pregnant.

Young Maddie described how she considered abortion. However, after seeing her baby on an ultrasound screen, she rejected abortion and chose life for her baby.

But Maddie was hounded by pro-abortion internet trolls during her pregnancy, who were repulsed at her decision to protect her child’s life.

The online abusers bombarded the pregnant 13 year-old with links to local abortion clinics. The bullies told Maddie that having a baby was going to ruin her life and that they hoped she would “die in labour".

“The hate made me stronger”

Brave Maddie is now 17 years old. She has spoken out, describing how her baby, Everly, gave her life value, and that the pro-abortion abuse empowered her to become stronger.

She said: “The hate made me want to do better, it made me want to show them that I am going to be the best mom ever, even though I’m young.

“Everly didn’t only change my life, she saved my life. I struggled with depression, I had a suicide attempt when I was 13 before I got pregnant.

“I had trouble trying to find my place on this earth and why I was here, it gave me a reason to fight.

“So many people say I’m a bad mom just because I’m a teenager, but I have the same capacity to parent as anybody else. A good mom is someone who drops everything for their child, I dropped my whole childhood.

“I’d do anything for that little girl, she’s my entire world.”

“An inspirational young woman”

SPUC’s Mr Robinson added: “Maddie is an inspirational young woman. A teenage pregnancy can be a hugely challenging circumstance. However, Maddie’s brave decision to put the life of her own daughter first, despite the mounting hate towards her, truly is heroic.

“This proves that life and love will always conquer hate and violence.”
