Gymnast Simone Biles says it’s better to be aborted than be in foster care

U.S. gymnast champion Simone Biles has made her pro-abortion stance clear on social media after her high-profile appearances at the Tokyo Olympics.

Biles, 24, won 4 gold medals at the Rio Olympics in 2016. She is widely considered to be one of the greatest gymnasts of all time.

On Monday, Biles spoke to around 6.9 million followers online, stating that she is “very much pro-choice”, even claiming that it is better to be aborted than be in foster care.

“Your body, your choice”, she announced, defending her stance on abortion.

Biles spent 3 years in foster care, along with her siblings, after being taken away from her mother, an alcoholic and drug addict.

Later, she was adopted by her grandparents at the age of six.

Biles has since described the U.S. foster care system as “broken”, explaining that adoption is difficult in the United States and that foster care is very tough on children.

SPUC comment

A SPUC spokesperson said: “Stating that it is essentially better to be dead than alive in foster care is a profoundly pessimistic, anti-life statement, which is far from empowering.

“No doubt, the time she spent in foster care was tough for her and her siblings and they deserve our sympathy. But look at what Biles has accomplished since then. She’s become a world leader in her chosen sport, proving that it’s possible to overcome even the toughest of circumstances.

“Saying that it might have been better if she had been aborted appears to suggest that her life — everything she means to her family, her friends and the millions of people inspired by what she’s achieved — all counts for nothing.

“It’s a great pity that instead of using her position to help improve the situation of children in the foster care system that she has chosen to promote the killing of her fellow human beings.”
