Abortion Giant, Marie Stopes Australia has permanently closed four of its abortion clinics. Michael Robinson, SPUC Director of Communications, said: “Marie Stopes abortion clinics have been harming women and killing countless children for decades. Ridding these death clinics from our communities is a firm step forward for the pro-life community.”
The Queensland abortion clinics in Townsville, Rockhampton, Southport and Newscastle are set to close this month as they are “no longer financially viable.” Annually, Marie Stopes International ends the lives of 4.6 million children through abortion.
These clinics stay closed
Five Marie Stopes abortion clinics permanently closed their doors at the beginning of 2020 in the UK.
SPUC’s Mr Robinson said: “The past year has witnessed a wave of closures for abortion clinics.
“Marie Stopes is an international abortion giant that has harmed countless women and children around the globe and has also been promoting a culture of conveyer belt abortion in the United Kingdom. It is a great relief to see some of their clinics close.”
“A catalogue of safety violations”
Marie Stopes abortion clinics have become the centre of scandal in recent years after Care Quality Commission reports uncovered serious health and safety failings.
The reports revealed a catalogue of abuses and safety violations occurring in the clinics, including paying staff bonuses for promoting abortion and leaving dead aborted babies in open rubbish bins.
In 2012, Aisha Chithira died following an abortion at the Marie Stopes Ealing clinic.
Despite the violations, the government continue to fund Marie Stopes. The abortion giant’s financial reports across the past five years reveal that the UK Department for International Development has been their single biggest donor, granting £46 million.
Simon Cooke, Marie Stopes Chief Executive, was placed under scrutiny in 2019 after receiving an extraordinary salary of £434,000.
SPUC’s Mr Robinson added: “It is vital that the pro-life community continues to fight for the end of all abortion and to ensure mothers and unborn children are spared from its violence.”
