Over 10,000 unborn lives have already been saved in the United States because of the overturning of Roe v. Wade in June, a pro-abortion organisation has calculated.
There were 10,570 fewer abortions in the United States between July and August, it has been reported, compared with the number of abortions that would typically occur during that time – a 6% decline.
The same pro-abortion group that collected the abortion data has estimated that there could be at least 60,000 fewer abortions next year in the US.
On 24 June, a “momentous day”, as reported by SPUC, the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, the infamous 1973 ruling that legalised abortion throughout the nation.
Half of US states have since banned or are expected to ban or limit abortion.
Preceding and following the repeal, pro-abortion violence has erupted in the US, with a reported 69 Catholic churches being attacked and vandalised, while pro-life pregnancy centres were also targeted.
SPUC comment
A SPUC spokesperson said: “SPUC recently launched a National Prayer Campaign to commemorate the 10 million unborn lives killed by abortion in the UK. Every one of those 10 million lives mattered – just as the 10,000 lives saved by the repeal of Roe v. Wade since June matter, most of all to the unborn lives that will now go on to have names, lives and families of their own.
“While pro-abortion ideologues and the reprehensible industry they defend will protest that 10,000 thousand lives have been allowed to live, the unborn individuals themselves will later celebrate being born in a post-Roe world.
“More than ever before, pro-lifers in the UK can see what they’re fighting for. Each unborn life will become a free will able to make choices of their own. If the so-called ‘pro-choicers’ really care about choice, they would celebrate these 10,000 saved lives who will soon be able to make choices of their own.”
