An Italian pro-life HQ in Rome was recently vandalised with eggs and graffiti in an attack of “unbridled hate” against the family.
The headquarters of Pro Vita & Famiglia (Pro-Life and Family) in Rome was attacked on 10 June during a demonstration.
The outside of the office was vandalised with graffiti that included such messages as “Abortion on demand”, “Fascists should be hanged” and “Transfeminist revenge”.
Eggs were also thrown against the entrance to the office.
Jacopo Coghe, the president of Pro Vita & Famiglia, said the attack was part of a broader “climate of hate… intolerance that only knows how to insult, denigrate, threaten, and wants to shut up everyone who thinks differently”.
A defiant Coghe added: “We will not be intimidated, and we will continue with our actions in defence of life, family, educational freedom, and children.”
A recent study found that US pro-lifers suffered 22x more attacks than pro-abortion individuals in 2022, following the repeal of Roe v. Wade, as reported by SPUC.
Last month, a professor who abused pro-life students and threatened a journalist with a machete was fired from a New York college.
SPUC comment
A SPUC spokesperson said: “These horrific hate attacks are increasingly common around the world, attempting to intimidate pro-lifers and shut down debate in free countries.
“While the United States has seen the most extreme cases of pro-abortion militancy, pro-abortion violence is also on the rise in Europe and the UK.
“Abortion ideology is inherently violent, advocating for the killing of unborn babies, and its apologists are now turning to violence to attack those who seek to peacefully defend the right to life.
“While these attacks on pro-lifers are utterly wrong and repugnant, they come from a place of profound insecurity as the pro-abortion narrative is gradually eroded by the good work of such organisations Pro Vita & Famiglia – and, of course, SPUC.
“Pro-lifers must stand their ground and refuse to give in to such unbridled hate.”
