Bishop Mark Davies, the Catholic Bishop of Shrewsbury, has condemned the DIY home abortion regime calling it “sinister” and an assault on mothers and babies.

The new DIY home abortion regime was introduced in March 2020 in response to the nationwide lockdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The regime allows women to get abortion drugs following a telephone call. They are not required to meet with a doctor face to face and the abortion pills are sent through the post. Women are then left to perform their own chemical abortion at home with no medical supervision or support.

A woman has spoken out about her agonizing abortion experience, saying that by sharing her story she hopes help stop other women and girls being hurt by abortion. Freyja said: “The realisation fully dawned on me that I had killed my innocent baby. I felt like my world had ended. What had I done? My tears were endless in the coming days, weeks, and months.”

Speaking to Her Voice, an online platform which provides women with a space to share their abortion stories, Freyja has discussed her crisis pregnancy and the emotions that burdened her following her abortion procedure.

A giant of the pro-life movement has announced plans to retire and the Executive Committee of the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC) has announced the identity of his successor. Christine Hudson, Chairman of SPUC’s Executive Committee said: “The Executive Committee decided unanimously to appoint John Deighan to take over the reins of SPUC from September 2021”.

Veteran campaigner John Smeaton is stepping down as the chief executive of SPUC, the world’s oldest pro-life organisation which was established in 1967. He will relinquish his post in September 2021.

A mother of a child with Down’s syndrome is suing the government over the UK’s abortion law which allows disabled children to be aborted up until birth. Doctor Anthony McCarthy, SPUC Director of Research said: “When an unborn child is thought to have Down’s syndrome, it is especially disgraceful that members of the medical profession take it upon themselves to subtly pressure mothers to end the lives of the most vulnerable.”

In the United Kingdom, abortion can be carried out for any reason until the 24th week of pregnancy, and then can be carried out until birth if the unborn child is suspected of having a foetal anomaly such as Down’s syndrome.

Police are investigating after an unborn baby died after its mother took abortion drugs at home while 28 weeks pregnant. They were mailed under a new lax “home abortion” scheme set up amidst the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.

According to a report by The Sun, abortion giant- the British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS), which runs the “pills by post” service, has confirmed it is investigating the case, plus eight more where women were beyond the ten-week limit.

A baby boy who was born extremely prematurely has been called a “warrior” who is “crushing milestones” that no-one ever thought possible. His mother, is overjoyed at her son’s progress. She said: “Karter Lamar King is a warrior and we can’t wait to see what his future holds!”

Doctors in Texas did not expect baby boy, Karter Lamar King, to survive his first week of life after he was born 14 weeks prematurely on August 27th 2019.

However, after 260 days in hospital, the baby boy has been praised as a “miracle baby” and is now breathing independently.
