Universities

The number of university pro-life societies around the UK continues to grow, which is a very good thing.

Student societies bring like-minded pro-lifers together to shape and influence their university environment and bring the truth about human life to fellow students at a pivotal time in a person's life.

After all, universities are where young people go in order to study subjects such as medicine, teaching, law and politics. These are all areas of public life where it is essential that the pro-life voice is heard.

Equally, when you leave home and go to university, you may encounter beliefs and ideologies that you have not come across before. It is a time when you should have the opportunity to explore new ideas, challenge established opinions and learn to think for yourself.

It is essential that freedom of speech and expression on campus is not undermined!

At SPUC, we help student societies by providing expert speakers, pro-life leaflets and literature - all free of charge - and equipment such as foetal model sets.

We are always keen to keep in touch with students and support them in any way we can.

Recognising the right to life

Every human being has the right to life - regardless of age, size, level of development, environment or location.

Recognising the right to life as a universal principle challenges us - personally and as a society - to act on this principle by ensuring that the unborn are protected from abortion, and the disabled and vulnerable are protected from attempts to wilfully end their lives, and that all are afforded due recognition as equal members of the human family.
