Ex-abortionist exposes lies of abortion industry as Florida backs protections for unborn babies

Kathi Aultman, a former abortionist in Florida, once believed the lies the abortion industry told to justify the millions of unborn babies it kills every day: “Access to abortion is a human right. No woman should have to carry an unwanted pregnancy. Abortion helps women.” Aultman has since repudiated the lies of the abortion industry.

“These are the things I believed”, recalls Aultman, “when I was performing first-trimester dilation and curettage suction abortions and second-trimester dilation and evacuation abortions”.

During her residency, she had learned compartmentalize, which led her to lose sight of the humanity of unborn babies.

“I saw no difference between a human embryo and the chick embryos I dissected in college”, Aultman explains. “I had no qualms about sucking little babies out of the womb or pulling off their arms and legs and crushing their heads because I felt strongly that I was helping women. I even had an abortion myself.”

But the birth of Aultman’s daughter changed her outlook. “I had my daughter, and although I continued to do abortions while pregnant, after my daughter’s birth, I could no longer kill babies just because they weren’t wanted.”

While she hadn’t yet repudiated the abortion industry, Aultman’s view did eventually change while working as an obstetrician.

“I saw young women in my OB-GYN practice with unplanned pregnancies, who kept their babies and did exceptionally well, in contrast to those women with psychological and physical complications from abortion…

“Later, I realized I was not only murdering innocent human beings but that I was also hurting women.”

“Floridians are compassionate”

It is because of her experience in the abortion industry that Aultman supports Florida’s proposed Heartbeat Protection Act, which, if passed, will at least protect the right to life of unborn children from six weeks.

The bill will likely save thousands, if not tens of thousands, of unborn lives every year. It is supported by a majority of Floridians.

But Aultman notes: “Unsurprisingly, pro-abortion advocates such as Planned Parenthood and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists are fighting against the bill. But their narratives go against medical science…

“After performing hundreds of abortions, I know without hesitation that abortion after six weeks stops a beating heart. The cardiovascular system is the first organ system to function, circulating the oxygen and nutrients every baby needs to grow.”

Aultman’s only regret about the bill is that it will come too late for her and her aborted child. “I wish this kind of protection had been in place when I chose to have my abortion. It would have saved my child and saved me a lifetime of regret.”

Speaking truth to power

SPUC’s Michael Robinson, Executive Director (Public Affairs and Legal Services), said: “It takes a great deal of courage for an abortionist to repudiate their past as well as speak out against the lies of their former industry.

“Kathi Aultman’s account of abortion, as a mother and an abortionist, exposes what this horrid industry desperately wants to keep buried: the fact that abortion also hurts women. Every woman considering an abortion deserves to hear Aultman’s testimony and the truth it tells.

“The abortion industry and its shameless apologists continue to deny the humanity of unborn babies, despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Already, however, their world has been shaken by the repeal of Roe v. Wade. As SPUC reported this week, over 30,000 unborn babies have already been saved as a result.

“Slowly but surely, the abortion empire is being dismantled. Truth will eventually overcome lies, so long as good people are willing to speak truth to power.”
