For your general safety
At SPUC, we provide all the materials you need to successfully leaflet in your local area. We have provided the following guidelines for respectful leafleting and to keep you safe:
Where possible, deliver leaflets in pairs. This is more fun and safer than leafleting on your own, and increases the number of leaflets you can deliver.
Take a mobile phone with you.
Do not approach any house where you see a dog, or where for any reason you feel unsafe. Just move on to the next house.
Be especially careful when pushing leaflets through letter boxes that there is no dog inside. A spatula can be a useful tool for pushing leaflets through.
Respectful Leafleting Tips
Please do not deliver to houses that request ‘no advertisements, junk or promotional materials’
If you are unable to deliver a leaflet into a letterbox, do not place leaflets elsewhere, or drop them on paths.
Please do not deliver leaflets late in the evening or overnight. It can be frightening for people to hear their letterbox rattled at unusual times. This can be particularly distressing to elderly people.
Please be mindful of sensor-operated lights, which, if activated late at night can also alarm people.
