SPUC’s Project Truth a great success again in Scotland in 2024

SPUC’s Project Truth is a youth initiative bringing the pro-life message to the streets of Scotland, one city at a time. Every summer, young pro-lifers seek to engage in positive discussions with the public, hoping to change hearts and minds.

The roadshow, which travels to multiple cities and towns in Scotland, provides an excellent opportunity for young men and women aged 18 to 30 to gain experience and confidence in speaking publicly about abortion.

The vast majority of interactions with the public are positive and constructive.

This year’s roadshow visited Edinburgh, Perth, Dunfermline, Dundee and Glasgow, where young pro-lifers had the chance to engage constructively with the public about pro-life issues.

One member of Project Truth who took part in this year’s roadshow said: “It’s been a really good week here at Project Truth. I’ve had some really good conversations with people, and I’ve definitely grown in confidence in my debating skills…

“I’ve had so many different conversations with so many different people… It’s been an amazing week.”

SPUC comment

A SPUC spokesperson said: “Our wonderful Project Truth team represents the best of the pro-life movement, speaking for the unborn and what is right in the public square in a way that engages positively and with respect, valuing every conversation and point of view.

“Each member of Project Truth gains in confidence and ends the roadshow better equipped to discuss the topic of abortion and promote the pro-life message, and many make new friends as well.

“At a time when pro-life young people, especially students on UK campuses, face increasing peer pressure and hostility to conform, it’s more important than ever before that we give them the confidence and platform to assert their voice and, in turn, speak for the unborn.

“Ultimately, these young people are our future. Project Truth helps them change hearts and minds one conversation at a time.”
