Another incident of pro-abortion vandalism took place in the United States last month when a student spray painted over pro-life signs on a Californian campus.

The incident took place on 20 May at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), when a male student vandalised pro-life signs on campus with spray paint. The incident was recorded on camera by a pro-life group at the scene.

The signs, which included the image of unborn babies, asked the question “When are we human?”

The same man had reportedly stolen four similar signs at UCLA in 2023. Justice for All, the US pro-life group that owned the signs in both instances, has filed a police report and seeks to press charges.

Rebekah Dyer, a member of the group, said: “We have his picture and videos of that crime. Now he’s vandalizing signs this year. When will this stop?”

The anti-abortion group was invited to UCLA by pro-life students seeking dialogue with people who support abortion.

Earlier this year, another young male vandalised a Students for Life stall at UNC Asheville, a liberal arts college in North Carolina.

The male student approached a stall run by female pro-life students and threw their leaflets on the ground. He also accused them of “spreading propaganda” and “fascism”.

Pro-life students in the UK have also faced intimidation, attempted censorship and even death threats.

This year, on 28 March, police had to send reinforcements to protect pro-life students at the University of Manchester who were confronted by an abusive pro-abortion mob attempting to stop a guest speaker from entering the Students’ Union.

Up to fifty people with banners and megaphones chanted pro-abortion and anti-free speech slogans.

A similar event occurred in 2024 when the same pro-life student group had to be escorted out of the Students’ Union which was surrounded by a mob of protesters making vicious chants, some of whom were heard to shout, “Stay in there and die.”

Two female pro-life members also reported that they were followed home, while another girl received a rape threat.

A talk by a female SPUC staff member at the University of Edinburgh in 2022 was also disrupted by pro-abortion students with megaphones shouting, “Stop this talk right now… We are not allowing this to happen on our campus.”

The SPUC speaker had been invited by students of the Edinburgh Life Society.
